Construcción de viviendas de interés social desde la perspectiva de los materiales sostenibles en Cuilapam de Guerrero, Oaxaca
This research project analyzes the use of sustainable materials in the construction of social housing in Cuilapam de Guerrero, Oaxaca, with emphasis on energy efficiency, reducing environmental impact and strengthening cultural identity. The research suggests that the incorporation of local materials, such as adobe, and the use of renewable energy in construction can improve the quality of life of communities, while reducing the carbon footprint of the sector. Through the evaluation of materials such as adobe, bamboo, stone, wood and recycled concrete, the study identifies that adobe excels in sustainability thanks to its local origin, its low environmental impact, its thermal insulation capacity and its durability. Additionally, construction budgets were prepared to compare costs and feasibility of sustainable materials versus traditional ones, demonstrating that it is possible to achieve a balance between sustainability and cost. The project also highlights the social and cultural value of adobe, a traditional material that contributes to preserving architectural heritage and promoting the local economy. However, challenges are identified, such as the need for specialized labor and treatments that improve its resistance to humidity, which can be addressed with community training.
