A 25-31 GHz Microstrip Patch Antenna Design using Different Radiating Surfaces with Waveguide Port and Double Inset Feeding Technique for 5G Applications

This study presents a focused analysis and simulation-based exploration of microstrip patch antennas utilizing various radiating surface materials for 5G applications. Our innovative design employs a Rogers RT/Duroid 5870 substrate with gold and silver as patch metals. Remarkably, using silver patches yielded a return loss of -56.175 dB, a VSWR of 1.003 at 25.841 GHz, and a maximum bandwidth of 5.255 GHz. Similarly, gold patches demonstrated impressive results with a return loss of -53.57 dB, a VSWR of 1.004, and a bandwidth of 5.262 GHz. These findings underscore the potential of our antenna design to significantly boost 5G communication performance.
