Performance Assessment of Grid-Interactive Solar Power Plant
Technical performance of a 3MW solar PV plant working near Kolar, Karnataka India, is carried out. The performance parameters are evaluated by using the real time data collected from the power plant, using SCADA system. SCADA is incorporated in the power plant development. Simulation software is used to evaluate performance ratio, module temperature, array efficiency, inverter efficiency and energy yield. The estimated energy yield is very close to measured values with difference of 2.8%. The system losses are mainly due to low radiation, high temperature, dust, humidity, cabling is found to be 28.23%. The simulation results and real time information demonstrate that grid connected SPV power plant is working satisfactorily.
