A Solar Powered General Purpose IoT Node for Smart Grid Applications
At present, the application of Internet of Things technology in the power industry has been applied in multiple fields such as equipment monitoring and management, intelligent meter reading and energy management, etc. In order to adapt to the diverse applications in the power industry, IoT nodes need to provide sufficient universality to connect different devices and sensors and sufficient power supply capacity. In this paper, a solar powered general purpose IoT node for smart grid applications is presented. By considering various potential connection methods, the presented IoT node provides sufficient peripheral interfaces to adapt to different devices and sensors. In sunny conditions, the presented IoT node can effectively collect solar energy for power supply. Meanwhile, its communication capability has good isotropic consistency.
