Performance Evaluation of 3.3MWp Grid-Interfaced Solar PV Plant at Northern Karnataka Region of India Using PV Syst 7.4 Software
In the energy sector, grid-interfaced surface-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants are crucial for meeting future energy demands in an environmentally friendly manner. This paper presents a comprehensive technical analysis of a solar photovoltaic plant located in the northern Karnataka region of India. The plant's energy yield, efficiency, and reliability are evaluated for 2023–24. The technical analysis is based on measured data from plant monitoring systems like the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The study examines the effect of weather conditions on the plant's output and variations in solar radiation and temperature on the plant's performance. The Performance Ratio varied from 77% to 81%, while the Capacity Utilization Factor ranged from 11% to 19%. The annual average PR and CUF values were found to be 78.8% and 17.32% respectively. Furthermore, the actual plant details were assessed and compared with PV syst 7.4 software, which simulates the real-time behavior of the plant. The results of this paper can optimize plant operations and enhance performance.
