A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF HYDROGEN SUPPLY CHAIN DESIGN AND OPTIMIZATION: A TAXONOMY PERSPECTIVE
Hydrogen is increasingly recognized as a critical element indecarbonizing various sectors including energy, transport, chemical industry, andagriculture. Despite its potential, the broader integration of hydrogen into these sectorsis hampered by significant technological challenges related to its production, transport, and storage. Addressing these challenges necessitates the development of a robustand sustainable hydrogen supply chain (HSC), thus, this paper aims to clarify the mainelements of an HSC, by creating a taxonomic tree framework and discussing the HSCstate-of-art. Several key insights were gleaned such as the necessity of employingnon-linear optimization models, the importance of considering the social pillar ofsustainability, and the notable lack of HSC research focusing on Brazil as a study area.
