ENZYMATIC IMMOBILIZATION OF Aspergillus LIPASE USING COCOA SHELL AS A SUPPORT MATERIAL AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THE IMMOBILIZED BIOCATALYST

The use of enzymatic immobilization in agro-industrial waste as support isan interesting biotechnological alternative for managing these dejects in the country. This work aimed to immobilize Aspergillus lipase in cocoa bean shell (CBS) byphysical adsorption and covalent bonding, and the biochemical characterization ofthe immobilized biocatalysts as a function of pH, temperature and operationalstability. Covalent bonding was the most efficient technique for recovering enzymaticactivity, and the immobilized biocatalysts presented an optimal temperature in therange of 37-50°C, good activity at pH 7-8 and stability for up to six reuse cycles, thusdemonstrating excellent potential for industrial applications and relocation ofagro-industrial waste
