STRUCTURAL OPTIMIZATION FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL SUPPORTS
This work investigates the application of topological optimization - the useof which is one of the most widely used techniques for improving designs in terms ofrigidity and weight. The main objective of this study is to demonstrate how theapplication of topological optimization can result in a significant reduction in the weightof a structure to support solar panels without compromising structural integrity andpossibly reducing the price of the product. The methodology involves drawing up thethree-dimensional model and carrying out a static structural analysis using commercialsoftware to determine the stresses according to the loading applied due to the weightof the plates and environmental conditions.
