LIGNOCELLULOSIC BIOMASS PYROLYSIS: COMMERCIAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR BIOCHAR PRODUCTION
The growing concern over climate change caused by the greenhouse effecthas boosted the study of renewable energy sources. Agricultural and forestry residuesstand out due to their energy capacity. Biochar, produced through biomass pyrolysis, exhibits a high decarbonization potential. Seeking at contributing to the maturity andimprovement of existing pyrolysis technologies, this work aims to gather informationavailable in the literature on commercial biochar production units. Although manytechnologies have been developed in recent years, collaboration among researchers, industries, and government is essential for pyrolysis products to gain market space.
