Feasibility study on the use of a commercial steering box in an SAE formula prototype using the finite element method
The main objective of this paper is to present the methods used to study thefeasibility of a commercial component and the results found. First, we sought tounderstand the needs and the requirements of the project, then we set out to find acommercial component that met the requirements. After this, we analyzed thecomponents, understood the operating conditions of the steering system, and then usedthe finite element method to obtain numerical results, comparing these with the resultsfound analytically and deciding whether to use the components analyzed.
