A study on semantic network analysis of newspaper articles related to education recovery
This study explores the process of social discourse on educational recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic by conducting a Semantic Network Analysis (SNA) of newspaper articles related to educational recovery. Using the Big Kinds database, 241 articles were collected from 11 national daily newspapers between May 2021 and May 2022, and 225 articles were finally analyzed after filtering. The results revealed that school, ‘student’, ‘education’, and ‘support’ were the core keywords used for educational recovery in both national and regional newspapers. Additionally, the ‘student’ and ‘teacher’ were presented as important keywords among the education main group. Additionally, terms related to the medical environment, such as “COVID-19” and “pandemic prevention” were frequently mentioned in close association with educational recovery. Through chronological analysis, we discovered changes of core keywords. Through school-level analysis, we found differences among elementary, middle, and high schools.
