Observer‐Based Containment Control for Linear Parameter‐Varying Multi‐Agent Systems

ABSTRACT This paper investigates the observer‐based containment control problem of linear parameter‐varying (LPV) multi‐agent systems (MASs) with zero or nonzero leaders' inputs under both fixed and switching directed communication topologies. The corresponding distributed observer‐based containment control protocols are proposed for the system. The containment control problem of open‐loop LPV MASs is transformed into the stability problem of the closed‐loop systems. The sufficient conditions for the stability of the closed‐loop system are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to realize the containment control of LPV MASs. Finally, simulation examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed protocols.
