Phase-matching properties of AgGa(Se1-xTex)2 for SHG of a CO2 laser

This paper reports a new set of the index dispersion formulas for AgGaSe2 and AgGaTe2 that provide the phase-matching properties of AgGa(Se1–xTex)2 (x=0–0.22) for type-1 second-harmonic generation (SHG) of a CO2 laser at 9.2714 and 10.5910μm. In addition, SHG conversion efficiencies of these crystals under the 90° phase-matching condition are examined by using the literature values of nonlinear coefficients of AgGaSe2 and AgGaTe2.

Abstract

This paper reports a new set of the index dispersion formulas for AgGaSe2 and AgGaTe2 that provide the phase-matching properties of AgGa(Se1–xTex)2 (x=0–0.22) for type-1 second-harmonic generation (SHG) of a CO2 laser at 9.2714 and 10.5910μm. In addition, SHG conversion efficiencies of these crystals under the 90° phase-matching condition are examined by using the literature values of nonlinear coefficients of AgGaSe2 and AgGaTe2.
