Wireframe holography as a new method for augmented reality projection
Computer-generated holography (CGH) is a powerful tool for augmented reality applications but faces many challenges such as high computational demands and speckle noise. This work introduces Wireframe Holography, an innovative method utilizing linear segments as a new building block, achieved through controlled astigmatism in phase profiles. This method significantly reduces computational costs and speckle noise of traditional point-cloud methods, while enabling the creation of 3D wireframe objects. Fully compatible with all of the point-cloud optimization algorithms, it enhances holographic imaging for augmented reality and other applications. Experimental validation demonstrates its efficiency in producing smooth, speckle-free holograms.
