Expanding field-of-view for XR technology: 120-140 degrees
EyeJets introduces a novel optical technology, the multi-segment mirrors optical combiner, aimed at expanding the field of view (FOV) in XR systems to an unprecedented 120-140 degrees. The system employs proprietary multi-segment mirrors integrated into AR smart glasses to guide laser light from the light engine through a central pinhole onto the retina. This paper details the optical design, simulation results, experimental methods, and preliminary findings, demonstrating the continuity and functionality of projected images across adjacent segments. The successful implementation of this system marks a significant step forward in creating immersive and seamless XR experiences.
