Determination of Positive and Zero Sequence Impedance Measurements and Parameters in AC Transmission Lines
The calculations and measurements aimed at determining the parameters of transmission lines—key components of power systems—have been a significant subject of research for many years. This study provides a detailed explanation of the positive and zero sequence impedance measurement methods used to identify the parameters of AC transmission lines, along with standardized test setups and mathematical techniques for obtaining line parameters. Subsequently, all the mentioned impedance measurement tests and procedures were conducted on a transmission line model in a laboratory environment. Upon analyzing the results, it was found that the estimated line parameters, such as series resistance, reactance, inter-phase capacitance values, ground capacitances, and ground resistance, were accurately determined when compared to the actual line parameter values.
