Effect of Surface Roughness of Dielectric Rod Antenna Used in Phased Array Radar on Radiation Performance
The effect of surface roughness of dielectric rod antennas on radiation performance is analyzed in this paper. The dielectric rod antenna consists of a cylindrical structure and a frustum structure, and both structures have a certain curvature. Therefore, compared to the ideal structural model, the dielectric rod antenna will produce surface errors. Surface roughness based on Gaussian distribution is used to describe this surface error. Furthermore, the solid model of a dielectric rod antenna based on surface roughness was established to analyze the impact of surface errors on radiation performance. In order to more deeply evaluate the impact of antenna surface roughness on radar performance, the dielectric rod antenna array model based on surface roughness was established. Research on the impact of surface roughness on radar antenna performance helps to better evaluate the actual performance of phased array radar, and thus provides a reference for the improvement of antenna processing technology.
