Conformal Metamaterial Isolator for 1.5T MRI System*
The combined use of surface coils and metamaterials significantly improved magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) performance, providing an important advantage for the flexibility of 1.5T local imaging systems. However, coupling between components affected the future development of clinical MRI, resulting in reduced magnetic field enhancement and impaired contrast resolution. In this paper, we propose an isolator with a double-sided metal pattern that utilizes an omnidirectional polarization conversion mechanism to effectively eliminate the coupling between metamaterial and surface coil. This research paves a promising path for the practical application of portable metamaterials in MRI.
