Impact of Sparse Sampling on Multi-Beam Pattern Measurement of Phased Arrays

The multi-beam pattern of phased arrays can be efficiently measured by synthesizing element patterns retrieved in arrays. In this paper, the effect of sparse sampling and interpolation strategies on the multi-beam pattern measurement is further investigated in simulations. The reconstruction errors of multiple beams are examined in terms of beam peak and whole beam pattern for different samnling spacings.

Abstract

The multi-beam pattern of phased arrays can be efficiently measured by synthesizing element patterns retrieved in arrays. In this paper, the effect of sparse sampling and interpolation strategies on the multi-beam pattern measurement is further investigated in simulations. The reconstruction errors of multiple beams are examined in terms of beam peak and whole beam pattern for different samnling spacings.
