An Efficient High Order Domain Decomposition FE-BI-MLFMA for Electromagnetic Scattering by Inhomogeneous Objects

An efficient high order domain decomposition method (DDM) based hybrid finite element-boundary integral-multilevel fast multipole algorithm (FE-BI-MLFMA) is presented in this paper. The hierarchical high order vector finite element (HVFE) is employed to reduce the numerical dispersion error in the FEM. True second-order Robin transmission conditions are employed in the FE subdomain interfaces, while first-order Robin transmission conditions are employed in the interfaces between the FE region and the BI region. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed high order DDM-FE-BI-MLFMA for scattering by a frequency selective radome.
