Wideband Simulation of Electromagnetic Scattering from Multiscale Objects in Half Space

Wideband simulation of electromagnetic (EM) scattering from multiscale objects in a half space is discussed in this paper. The half-space Green's function (HSGF) is applied in the integral equation formulation so that the discretization is only associated with the scattering objects. To account for the multiscale nature of the geometry, the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) approach which works for nonconformal mesh is further employed. Finally, the wideband current is reconstructed by the Maehly approximation based on Chebyshev polynomials, from which the wideband RCS can further be deduced. Numerical results have demonstrated the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method in the wideband simulation of multiscale objects in half space.
