Metaverse potentials for the gaming industry

This systematic review investigates how Metaverse has shaped the gaming industry. A comprehensive review was conducted to investigate Metaverse characteristics, including blockchain, AR, VR, cloud computing, digital twins, and AI. By examining 137 scholarly articles, our analysis traces the historical development of the Metaverse, its technological foundations, and its gaming industry implications. Although the opportunities are underscored, the study also confronts challenges including privacy, security, and virtual economy management. This review of the Metaverse's role in gaming not only sheds light on its current state but also sets the stage for future explorations in this field.
