Compact Flexible Tri-Notched Patch Antenna for UWB Application

In this research, a CPW fed UWB antenna with specific notched band features has been designed. The antenna specifically filters out narrow-band signals in the frequencies utilized by WLAN, Wi-MAX, and X-band satellite communications, optimizing its function within the UWB spectrum. The triple-band-notched features of the proposed antenna are achieved by integrating nested Cshaped apertures into both the central and lower sections of the elliptical radiating patch. The experimental outcomes demonstrate that the antenna exhibits a return loss of less than or equal to -10 dB throughout the entire band, except for notched frequency bands. The antenna is flexible, lightweight, and has an ultra-thickness of 0.0508mm. This research is significant because of the increasing demand for UWB technology in various applications, including radar systems, healthcare monitoring, military communications, and home networking systems.
