The Novel Method of Solving Eigenmodes of the Open Waveguide

The perfect match layer(PML) is introduced for the open waveguide eigenmodes finite element method(FEM) solving. Compared to the conventional method, The PML introduction make the open waveguide eigenmodes FEM solving effienciently and accurately. The method is employed to compute the transmission constant charateristics as well. The results show that the novel method results is consistent with the theoretic solution.

Abstract

The perfect match layer(PML) is introduced for the open waveguide eigenmodes finite element method(FEM) solving. Compared to the conventional method, The PML introduction make the open waveguide eigenmodes FEM solving effienciently and accurately. The method is employed to compute the transmission constant charateristics as well. The results show that the novel method results is consistent with the theoretic solution.
