Laser-induced phase change RF switch with absorption enhancement based on gratings
The present study introduces a radio frequency (RF) switch that leverages the phase change induced by laser irradiation, which is based on the principle of one-dimensional gratings. The technology of laser-induced heating is recognized for its efficiency, precision, environmental sustainability, and cost-effectiveness, characterized by its high local heating and rapid cooling capabilities. Through the fabrication of gratings on the upper surface of GeTe and the meticulous tuning of these gratings' parameters, the study achieves an impressive laser absorption rate of 84% for the crystalline film at an incident wavelength of 532 nm. Furthermore, the amorphous film demonstrates a laser absorption rate of 73%, thereby markedly enhancing the laser's utilization efficiency. This advancement holds significant potential for applications in RF switch technology, offering a novel approach to achieving high-performance phase change mechanisms.
