A Wideband High-Efficiency Dual-Polarized Transmitarray Using Strongly-Coupled Grounding ME-Dipole Elements

This paper proposes a wideband dual-polarized magneto-electric (ME) dipole transmitarray antenna (TA) characterized by high efficiency and independent polarization control. The design integrates the strongly-coupled grounding ME-dipole structure with interlaced orthogonal feeding probes, facilitating independent control of dual linear polarizations within a compact configuration. By adjusting the length of the phase-delay line connected to the feeding probe, a continuous phase tuning range exceeding 400° can be achieved without introducing additional design complexities. As a proof of concept, a prototype TA consisting of 16×16 elements has been designed and analyzed. Simulation results demonstrate that the aperture efficiency reaches 43.7%, with a 3-dB gain bandwidth of 23.1 %, spanning from 23 to 29 GHz. The proposed dual-polarized TA exhibits significant potential for millimeter-wave applications.
