Wideband Millimeter-wave AoD Design on the TFE of an OLED Display for 5G and B5G Handsets
This paper presents a leading and practical wideband millimeter-wave (mmw) antenna-on-display (AoD) design on the thin-film encapsulation (TFE) of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display for handsets of the 5th generation mobile communications (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) to support all licensed mmw bands (i.e., n258, n257, n261, n260, n259, and n262) in the 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) for better wireless communication capabilities and promising for integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). Also, owing to the on-TFE design, multiple merits of thinner display modules, lower manufacturing complexity and costs, higher compatibility of touch sensors, and better visual performance can be achieved.
