Comparison of Two Population Means in Path Loss Model Planning on5G Networks
Large-scale signal propagation planning for 5G networks is usually carried out to observe transmission path loss values by studying mmWave signal propagation models and power link budget calculations. In this research, the path loss value was found in two ways, measurement and calculation. The concepts in calculating path loss values are Free Space Reference Path Loss (FSPL) and Geometry Based Stochastic (GBS). The observed 5G network frequency is 28 GHz. Path loss measurements are carried out in Line of Sight (LOS) and NonLine of Sight (NLOS). Comparative analysis of the system means of two populations is applied to compare the calculated and measured 5G network path loss values as well as LOS and NLOS conditions. These steps are the novelty and contribution of this research. The calculation results show the average path loss in LOS and NLOS conditions for FSPL model is 105.3 dB and 131.6 dB, respectively. Meanwhile, the mean of path loss for the GBS model in LOS condition is 105.3 dB and 148.3 dB in NLOS condition. A comparison of the means of the two populations shows that the path loss calculation results are better in LOS than in NLOS, both in the FSPL and GBS concepts.
