Microwave AoD Design on the TFE of an OLED Display for 5G and B5G Cellular Phones
This paper proposes a leading and practical microwave (mcw) antenna-on-display (AoD) design on the thin-film encapsulation (TFE) of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display for cellular phones of the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$5^{\text{th}}$</tex> generation mobile communications (5G) and beyond 5G (B5G) so that popular licensed FR1 mcw bands n77 and n78 in the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3^{\text{rd}}$</tex> generation partnership project (3GPP) can be supported for better user experience in wireless communications and stronger product competitiveness. Besides, due to the on-TFE design, numerous advantages, e.g., thinner display modules, lower manufacturing complexity and costs, higher compatibility with touch sensors, and higher visual performance, can be attained as well.
