Positioning Correction for TDOA system in Atmospheric Duct by Using Ray Tracing
With the development of passive detection system, the time difference error of targets caused by atmospheric duct has become more and more obvious, which seriously affects the positioning accuracy of TDOA system. Based on the ray tracing algorithm, aimed at the radiowave signal path characteristics in atmospheric duct, a refraction correction model for TDOA is proposed. The simulation results show that the time delay difference error caused by duct basically remained around 140ns and the positioning error can reach to about 8km in the range of 200km~800km, and the technique in this paper can significantly improve the positioning accuracy of the passive TDOA system for over-the-horizon targets.
