Dual-Polarized Antenna with Low Scattering Characteristic for Aperture-Shared Array
A dual-polarized antenna with low scattering characteristic is proposed as a low-band (LB) antenna in aperture-shared antenna arrays without destroyed radiation pattern of high-band (HB) antenna over a broadband. The low scattering characteristic is achieved by etching composite slot included ring slot and quasi-cross slot (RSQCS) on the radiator of LB antenna. Due to the spatial bandpass response in HB, the RSQCSs make the LB antenna with reverse induced current realize little distortion to the radiation patterns of the HB antenna. For demonstration, the proposed dual-band antenna array, operating in the LB of 1.7-2.7 GHz (VSWR<1.5) and the HB of 3.3-4 GHz (VSWR<1.5), is fabricated. The simulation and experimental results present good capability of cross-band scattering suppression and restoring radiation patterns.
