Utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) Technology in Mobile Food Delivery Robots

Technological advancements have accelerated and expanded rapidly in several industries in recent years. The advancement of robotics technology is one fascinating example, particularly when considering the case study of robots that deliver food. The purpose of this meal delivery robot's creation was to lessen the labor of humans and improve food delivery efficiency. This robot uses IoT technology in conjunction with a line-follower system to control speed and steer itself toward the target setpoint. The PID algorithm in this food delivery robot regulates the motor speed to enable stable operation while delivering food to the customer's table. The rotary encoder sensor determines the motor speed produced, allowing you to observe how long it takes to reach the ordering table using a predefined setpoint. The results of the trials demonstrate that if the setpoint is 120 rpm, the time taken to achieve that setpoint is 7 seconds. The food distribution process can be carried out well and consistently by employing the optimal PID parameters, which are kp=0.1, Ki=0.0002, and Kd=0.0003. The experiment yielded a success rate of 99.29% and an error rate of 0.71%. Thus, this meal delivery robot has the potential to improve food delivery efficiency and quality.
