Design of Slotted Waveguide Array Antenna with A Novel Matching Technique

In this paper, a novel matching technique for slotted waveguide array antennas is proposed. Different from the common slotted waveguide array antennas, the metal surface of the proposed antenna is covered with a layer of medium. Then, the metal block used to adjust the matching is introduced into the slots. The relative bandwidth(VSWR<2) of the proposed antenna is 3.68%. The maximum gain is 18dBi and the maximum sidelobe level is -15.4dB.

Abstract

In this paper, a novel matching technique for slotted waveguide array antennas is proposed. Different from the common slotted waveguide array antennas, the metal surface of the proposed antenna is covered with a layer of medium. Then, the metal block used to adjust the matching is introduced into the slots. The relative bandwidth(VSWR<2) of the proposed antenna is 3.68%. The maximum gain is 18dBi and the maximum sidelobe level is -15.4dB.
