Shielding Effectiveness Analysis of Curved Anisotropic Multi-Layered Carbon Fiber Composite Cavities

The shielding effectiveness (SE) of complex cavities made from curved anisotropic multi-layered carbon fiber composite (CFC) materials is calculated and analyzed using the embedded thin layer technique integrated in commercial software. This analysis aims to identify the factors influencing the shielding properties of these materials. In the paper, a truncated cone-shaped cavity made from curved anisotropic multi-layered CFC materials serves as an example. We calculate its SE for CFC materials with varying layer numbers and fiber orientations. The results demon-strate that the number of layers and the fiber orientation of each layer are key factors influencing the SE of curved multi-layered CFC materials. However, once the number of layers exceeds a cer-tain threshold, these factors have little effects on their shielding properties. The study would provide guidance for designing CFC materials to achieve better electromagnetic shielding properties.
