A Design of Broadband Rib-Type Antenna
This paper proposes a broadband antenna conformal to avian ribs. The proposed antenna consists of a symmetrical archeddipole combined with two L-shaped monopoles, allowing for a perfect fit with the avian skeletal structure, where the arched dipole and the two L-shaped monopoles each have different resonant frequencies, and can be adjusted independently by their lengths, giving the antenna a relatively wide operation bandwidth. The simulated results demonstrate that the proposed antenna achieves a 10 dB impedance bandwidth of 45.7% (0.81-1.29 GHz). It also exhibits high radiation efficiency and nearly omnidirectional radiation patterns within the operational bandwidth.
