Dual-Band Shared Aperture Antenna with Wide- and Narrow-Beam for Projectile Radio Detector
This paper proposes a novel dual-band shared aperture antenna (SAA) with wide- and narrow-beam for projectile radio detectors. The high-frequency antenna is a 2×2 microstrip antenna array which designed integrally with the hood operating in the Ka-band. The hood of the Ka-band array can also serve as an S-band-working antenna, a differentially fed dielectric resonator antenna (DRA). Simulation results demonstrate that SAA achieves an operational bandwidth of 380MHz in the S-band and 1.1GHz in the Ka-band. The S-band DRA simulated gain is 4.6dBi and the 3dB beamwidth is 100°. The simulated gain of the Ka-band array is 13.5dBi with the 3dB beamwidth is 36°, and the frequency ratio of the proposed SAA is 1: 10.
