Design of High Isolation Electromagnetic Vector Antenna
A high channel isolation electromagnetic vector antenna is proposed to meeting the needs of miniaturization (small footprint), multi-dimensional, and high-precision development in the acquisition of wide area ionospheric information. The electromagnetic vector antenna consists of three orthogonal electric dipoles and three orthogonal magnetic loops. The antenna body is made of aluminum and has six channels. Through extensive simulation calculations, the optimal structure of the proposed antenna is determined. The simulation results indicate that within the shortwave range of 3–30 MHz, the VSWR of the proposed antenna is less than 2.5, and the isolation between each channel is high. The measurement results show that the isolation between the channels of the proposed antenna is high and the VSWR<2.5 in the shortwave range of 3–30 MHz. The proposed antenna has the characteristics of high isolation and can be used for receiving multi-channel ionospheric incoming wave signals. It can provide basic, reliable and effective received data for multi-feature processing and parameter extraction such as polarization domain and spatial domain of incoming wave.
