The Design Thinking Method to the Bright Gas Scanner Application to Enhance Bright Gas Sales Realization

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga developed the Bright Gas Scanner application to assist customers in verifying the authenticity of Bright Gas cylinders. However, limited functionality led to low user adoption. This study applies the Design Thinking method to enhance the Bright Gas Scanner application, focusing on improving user satisfaction and sales realization. The study follows five stages: empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing. The results show improvements interface and addition of features such as online ordering, shipment tracking, and online chat successfully enhanced the application’s effectiveness and efficiency. These improvements are expected to support Bright Gas’s sales growth by offering more responsive and integrated services that meet user needs. This study evaluates its effectiveness, aiming to improve user satisfaction, application efficiency, and overall service quality. Through user interviews, the empathy stage identified key challenges in usability and technical performance. The ideation and prototyping phases introduced creative solutions that were tested in real-world scenarios. As a result, the app’s new features such as online ordering, payment, shipment tracking, and online chat significantly improved both user experience and operational efficiency. These updates are expected to drive higher customer satisfaction and contribute to increased Bright Gas sales by offering better and more reliable services.
