Millimeter-Wave Orthogonally Scanning and Dual-Polarized Multibeam Antenna Based on SIW Shared-Cavity Rotman
A shared-cavity Rotman lens for an orthogonally scanning and dual-polarized (OSDP) multibeam array is realized using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. The core of the design is using two Rotman-type multibeam beam-forming networks (MBFNs) orthogonally combine, each of which is primarily shaped by a feed contour and an array contour of a traditional Rotman lens. These MBFNs share the common lens cavity, thus the compactness and integration are significantly improved. It can generate orthogonal scans and dual polarizations after connecting to the radiation portion. Using this method, an SIW OSDP multibeam array is designed, simulated, and fabricated.
