Design and Simulation of an LLc Resonant Converter with a NOminal 24V 1000W Output for Battery Chargers
The LLC resonant topology, which is highly efficient and has low electromagnetic interference, is a popular structure in DC-DC converters. LLC resonant converters can operate at high frequencies, and their structure is suitable for soft switching. Due to their high-frequency operation, circuit designs can be created in smaller sizes, which allows for increased power density. Consequently, the use of LLC resonant converter topology is also increasing in battery chargers. In this study, an LLC resonant converter structure was designed for a battery charger. The topology of the converter, which has a 24V DC output and 1000W rated power, is shown. The necessary parameters were defined using design equations. Simulations were conducted under different conditions with this topology and these parameters. Through the simulations, the design parameters obtained from the equations were verified, and waveforms were demonstrated.
