Dual-Polarized Wideband Filtering Reflecting Surfaces for 6G Radio Environment Manipulation

This paper proposes dual-polarized wideband filtering reflecting surfaces for 6G radio environment manipulation. The proposed reflecting element is composed of the basic filtering element and the true-time-delay line. The wideband filtering characteristic is synthesized and designed according to desired performance. A reflecting surface with 12×12 elements is realized for a deflection angle of 40°. Within the operating bandwidth of 70.1%, the average efficiencies for simulations and measurements are 82.5% and 77.4%. The dual-polarized reflecting element and reflecting surface are further obtained, where simulated average efficiencies for x and y polarizations in the overlapped 66.7% bandwidth are 91.7% and 92.5%.
