A Fast Analysis Method for Bistatic Broadband Electromagnetic Scattering Problems Based on Subdomain Method of Moments and Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation

A fast frequency sweeping algorithm based on subdomain method of moment (SMoM) and Asymptotic Waveform Estimation (AWE) is proposed to solve the bistatic broadband electromagnetic scattering problem of complex multiscale targets. In the proposed approach, the target is divided into several subdomains which are easy to solve according to the geometric characteristics. Firstly, the initial surface current of each subdomain is solved by MoM and the initial Taylor expansion coefficient of the surface current is solved by traditional AWE. Then, the boundary conditions on the interfaces between adjacent subdomains require to be enforced to ensure the current continuity. Next, the excitation vector is updated and the new expansion coefficient is solved until the error of the old and new expansion coefficient meets the convergence condition. Finally, the Taylor series is transformed into rational function by Pade approximation to obtain the broadband scattering characteristics of the target.
