Design of MIMO Imaging System by Millimeter Wave Radar
In this paper a MIMO imaging radar system with 12 transmitting antennas and 16 receiving antennas is designed for scenarios such as concealed objects penetrating imaging and nondestructive detection. The designed MIMO radar system has 12 transmit antennas and 16 receive antennas, forming a non-redundant linear array with 192 virtual antenna elements. The mmWave radar system constructs a signal model of an ideal point target, and uses the actual echo data of the corner reflector to estimate and compensate the amplitude and phase deviations of 192 channels. The MIMO radar system extends the antenna array, and shortens the imaging scanning time, which has great potential in the field of penetrating imaging such as security inspection and nondestructive detection.
