X-band and 2-18GHz Frequency Overlap Heterogeneous Array
In this paper, a novel frequency overlap heterogeneous phased array (HPA) is put forward. The array consists of two types of all-metal Vivaldi elements with distinct lattice sizes, namely 13.5mm×13.5mm and 9mm×9mm. These elements operate in the X-band and the frequency range of 2-18GHz, resulting in a 3:2 aperture ratio. Unlike traditional phased arrays that are designed and function independently, the HPA can operate in both independent and collaborative modes for various states. In contrast to the independent mode, when the HPA operates in the collaborative mode, the array gain is enhanced, thereby facilitating the improvement of system performance and the reduction of hardware costs.
