Transmission Characterization of Power-Exponential Airy Beams in Complex Turbulence
The main objective of this work is to analyze the transmission properties of power-exponential Airy beams following their propagation through air and then plasma turbulence. The study first establishes the mathematical models describing the Airy beam and the LG beam at the field source, respectively. Then, using the paraxial approximation condition of Huygens-Fresnel, the expression for the transmission of the Airy beam in the free space is derived from the polar coordinate expression of the Airy beam at the field source. The light intensity and phase distributions of Airy beams and LG beams are then compared after transmission through each turbulence using the random phase screen theory, and the analysis leads to the conclusion that Airy beams are more appropriate for transmission in more complex turbulence environments. Power-exponential Airy beams are better at reducing the effect of turbulence than ordinary laser light sources because they have numerous orbital angular momentum modes at the field source, which lessens the effect of turbulence on individual modes. The comprehension of Airy beam transmission in intricate settings and the enhancement of their efficiency in real-world uses are crucial implications of our findings.
