Dual-Band MIMO Antenna with Extended Ground Open-Stubs and Parasitic Patch for Decoupling
This work reports a dual-band MIMO antenna for the fifth-generation (5G) application. The antenna achieves enhanced isolation by adding extended ground open-stubs and parasitic patch. As the antenna resonates, the antenna current forms one decoupling path in the upper operation band and two decoupling paths in the lower operation band, achieving both electric and magnetic decoupling. The simulation results show that the proposed antenna has a return loss better than 10 dB and an isolation over 20dB in the frequency range of 3.35 GHz-3.45 GHz and 3.75 GHz-4.1 GHz. The efficiency exceeds 90%, and the envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) is below 0.023.
