Deliberation Leads to Unanimous Consensus
Blockchain technology has accelerated advances and developments in the field of computers. At the core of this technology are consensus protocols, which guarantee networks’ smooth and decentralized functioning, enabling them to perform as intended. Every blockchain has dominating qualities due to consensus procedures; some networks are scalable and have quick finality, while others are very secure. The selection of blockchains for particular applications is based on their predominant properties. However, State-of-the-art consensus protocols are not well suited for applications involving user decision-making. Therefore, a structured deliberation protocol that enables active participation from all nodes in the consensus process is proposed in this study. By doing this, the reached consensus will be acknowledged by all active miners, not simply the majority. We term this type of consensus as a unanimous consensus. This work also takes the well-researched concepts of argumentation/negotiation in intelligent systems and applies them to the domain of distributed systems.
