A Hybrid Propagation Loss Model for Urban Environment with Raytracing Method

A hybrid propagation loss model is proposed to cope with the typical urban propagation scenario where the propagation is affected by the buildings and building entries. The statistic method and ray tracing method are both applied in the proposed model, which makes it possess a higher accuracy and practicality compared to the single application of each method. It is believed that the hybrid propagation loss model would be available to expand for future communication systems in mmWave or even THz.

Abstract

A hybrid propagation loss model is proposed to cope with the typical urban propagation scenario where the propagation is affected by the buildings and building entries. The statistic method and ray tracing method are both applied in the proposed model, which makes it possess a higher accuracy and practicality compared to the single application of each method. It is believed that the hybrid propagation loss model would be available to expand for future communication systems in mmWave or even THz.
