Hybrid Lossy Compression for Grayscale Images using Polynomial Coding, ISUQ and Soft Thresholding Techniques

The probabilistic part of polynomial coding techniques, still large and exhausted huge bytes, and efficient coding techniques required to minimize it (reduce the bytes), here the mixing techniques of non-uniform scalar quantizer, along ISUQ and soft thresholding of DWT base adopted. The results of the suggested technique are effectively improved the image quality by 2 dB on average compared to standard JPEG where both converge to same compression ratio performance.

Abstract

The probabilistic part of polynomial coding techniques, still large and exhausted huge bytes, and efficient coding techniques required to minimize it (reduce the bytes), here the mixing techniques of non-uniform scalar quantizer, along ISUQ and soft thresholding of DWT base adopted. The results of the suggested technique are effectively improved the image quality by 2 dB on average compared to standard JPEG where both converge to same compression ratio performance.
