Simulation of Offshore Magnetic Dipoles and Electric Dipoles Based on Ocean Wave Spectrum
To study the impact of wave randomness on offshore antenna radiation characteristics, the ocean waves are geometrically modeled from the ocean spectrum using the wave equation, and the magnetic dipole and electric dipole antennas are jointly simulated with the ocean waves by the HFSS software, respectively. The input impedance and radiation patterns are analyzed at different positions, depths, and angles of inclination of the antennas. Simulation results show that at low frequencies, the real part of impedance is very small with the best radiation pattern uniformity. As frequency increases, the real part of impedance grows and the radiation pattern worsens, with electric dipole antenna showing higher directivity than magnetic dipole antennas.
